-----

Once again, the New York City Dec 31, 2022 New Year's Eve Celebration / Times Square Ball Drop will happen, just like it did in 2020 and 2021. Because neither covid-19 nor even a New York City "Tridemic" that is "overwhelming healthcare systems" can interfere with the money to be made at this annual event. In 2020, despite covid-19 cases in New York City being significantly higher at the end of December 2020, compared to September 2020, the Ball Drop occurred, but the "Never Forget 9/11/2001" memorial service (in September 2020) was cancelled.

So, unsurprisingly, in 2022, despite a month or so of dire headlines warning everyone about the "Tridemic", the Times Square show will go on: COVID, Flu and RSV Hit NYC – Here's What Top Doctors Say on ‘Tridemic' Woes - "A triple threat of overlapping illnesses -- COVID-19, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) and influenza -- is overwhelming healthcare systems"

This week’s Sunday Postcard Art challenge was "Stencils."

This is 2 of 2 postcards that I made for this challenge. I used a harlequin diamond pattern stencil for this, after seeing a Tim Holtz tag that used a similar design.

I created this using GIMP 2.8.14.

Journal Back Pocket

© All Rights Reserved
I created a back pocket for my weekly planner/journal that I'm using for The Documented Life Project .

I made a 4 and 3/4" wide by 5" high pocket with a 1/4" seam on the left, bottom, and right sides of it using GIMP 2.8.8, then printed it out on card stock paper. After cutting it out and folding over the 1/4" seams, I used an Elmer's glue stick on the seams, then glued it onto the back cover of the journal. (I inserted a piece of paper under the seams so that the glue didn't get onto the back side of the pocket when I applied it onto the seams.)

After that, I created a "Journal Skin" to cover my weekly planner/journal with, so I can change it out over time. I draped that over the left side of the journal for this photo, and put a tag that I had created into the back pocket. You can see the "Journal Skin" on the weekly planner/journal in this post.

The pocket images are from a DuckDuckGo search.

The master index for all of my entries is here.
