I took those photographs at the Audubon Larsen Wildlife Sanctuary in Fairfield, CT this past week.

And just like that, most of the leaves on the trees and bushes burst open in brilliant green. Unlike the Dogwood tree flowers, the green tree leaves are about on schedule for when they normally leaf out here. The beauty of all of this green everywhere is stunning, as it is every year, after Winter's barren look.

These birds were so small that I almost didn't see them running around in the shallow water. I think they might be a Least Sandpiper, but they looked smaller than a Black-capped Chickadee.

These are some photographs that I took of some Great Egrets at Southport Beach in Fairfield, CT this past week.

I timed the first photograph perfectly to catch the water spray during the fish catch. And I love how the golden Fall colors reflected on the water in these photographs.

These are some photographs that I took of some Great Egrets at Southport Beach in Fairfield, CT this past week.

I timed the second photograph perfectly to catch the water spray and multiple water droplet rings when the Egret plunged his head into the water to try to catch a fish. Sometimes I manage to capture stunningly beautiful shots (in my opinion), and this sequence of photos was one of those times.

I liked how the reflection in the first photograph was almost like a black and white mirror image. The Egret had just caught a fish in the second photo.

The Egret had just caught a fish in the first photograph. I thought the reflection in the second photo had a ghost like appearance to it. I thought the reflection in the third photo had a shadow look to it.

The sun was setting so it created some nice sun lighting on the Egrets.

I like the water ring in the first photo, the sun reflection highlights on the Egret in the second photo, and the deep blue water color in all of these.
