I'm in the process of going through my UFO (UnFinished Objects & Projects) pile to complete them or throw them into the scrap heap. This is a piece that originally started out as something else, which I didn't like, so it was sitting around collecting dust. I modified it, liked the end result, so I'm pushing it out.

I made an underwater merhorse / mermaid themed piece, but I'm not happy with the result. I'm suffering from artist's block so I finally had to enforce my "paint brush down!" time limit rule and stop working on this. I've already spent far too much time on it.

"Turquoise Lime / Golden Mermaid" - Postcard

This week's Sunday Postcard Art challenge was "Turquoise and Lime."

I started this by "stamping" two different ephemera backgrounds on a white postcard. Next, I blotted on turquoise and lime green splotches of color. I "stamped" a fish ornament at the top. Then I placed part of a poem about mermaids on this. I used the golden mermaid for a focal point, and included turquoise colored dolphin/sea monsters.

I created this using GIMP 2.8.22.
