"Crescent Moon Occult (Cigar Box)" - Wood Box

I made this Crescent Moon Occult rustic design wood box using a paper cigar box.

I painted over the edges of the cigar box and labels using Plaid Apple Barrel Outdoor Indoor Gloss Acrylic Black Paint (20662E), using two coats of paint. But I left the bottom as is.

(Note: I intentionally left the cigar labels on the box, and fully or partially decoupaged over them. I also wanted a distressed, aged look, so I allowed the paint to get scratched away.)

The steps are similar to the ones here.

I don't have any Wednesday Addams images, so I used a vintage photograph of a lovely young girl, instead. I also included some lines from The Masque of the Red Death by Edgar Allan Poe.

This week's My Soul's Dark Imagination theme was "Bad Girl", instead of "Deviled Eggs", so I will enter what I had created for that when the challenge opens. (That also gives me time to work on a second idea I had for that theme. :-)

My muse surprised me by being able to create something for this relatively quickly, with short notice. I am hoping that is another sign that my artist's block is gone.

This week's My Soul's Dark Imagination theme was "Freaky Circus Clowns".

Awhile ago, I found this freaky Pierrot clown image, so he seemed perfect for this. Any clown is scary, whether or not they are in a circus. I don't know why I don't like them, but I don't.

This week's My Soul's Dark Imagination theme was "Black Birdcage".

I've had artist's block, so I haven't been able to create anything for these challenges for awhile. I am hoping that my dry spell has ended, and my creativity has returned, because I especially like dark themes.

I didn't have many birdcage images, so I did a search for the type I imagined for this theme. I wanted one that was only the round type, but this image was the closest to that, that I could find. The round part was like a bay window in this house shaped birdcage. I also found this beautiful bird, and decided to use it for this.
