This week's Our Midweek Muse theme was "Witches".

I colored this Medieval witch image, but I don't like how it looks. I finally had to enforce my "pencils down!" rule.

I created this using GIMP 2.10.38.

"Illustrate A Song - I Am Down For The Ride" - Postcard

This week's Our Midweek Muse theme was "Illustrate A Song".

Note: song title is I'm Good, but I focused on some of the lyrics within it (see below), which drove the title of my art piece (no pun intended).

I created this using GIMP 2.10.32

Baby, I'ma have the best freakin' night of my life
And wherever it takes me, I'm down for the ride
Middle of the floor, that's where I'll be
No, I don't care no more, care no more
No, baby, nothing's gonna stop us tonight

This week I have the honor of guest hosting Sunday Postcard Art, and I chose the challenge theme "Rain." (The theme turned out to be a bit harder to make than I expected when I proposed it.)

Greenfield Hill Cemetery Gravestones - Photograph

I took those photographs at Greenfield Hill Cemetery in Fairfield, CT this past week.

This cemetery has my favorite gravestone: a skull and cross bones. It was just beginning to rain while I was here, and I liked how the raindrops looked on the gravestone. They straightened all of the gravestones on the left side of the cemetery, so that they are all level now. It also looks like they cleaned them, because the white gravestones are more noticeable now.

I took those photographs in my yard this past week.

It's amazing the beauty one can find in nature, if one pays attention to one's surroundings, and sees what is hiding in plain sight. Those rain water droplets on the various leaves almost looked like ice due to the dim sunlight that shimmered in them.

This week’s Moo Mania challenge was "Quotes."

I used several quotes that revolve around stars. The rain in the foreground is tears from the stars.

I created this using GIMP 2.8.16.

The words are from poems and songs.

"November Rain" - Postcard

© All Rights Reserved
This week’s Sunday Postcard Art challenge was "November Rain."

I combined modified lines from a song and a poem to inspire my piece:

Stormy weather follows misery
November rain
Wash away my story
And sweep me out to Sea
Where the mist resembles the rain

I created this using GIMP 2.8.14.

"It’s Raining"

© All Rights Reserved
This week’s Thank God It’s Friday challenge number 106 was “It’s Raining.” I was honored and thrilled to be asked to be the Guest Designer for this week. I created a scene showing a couple engrossed in each other and oblivious to the nighttime rain that had just started falling. I drew and created most of this image myself, using GIMP. Credits:

The couple and tree are from the New York Public Library Digital Gallery.

The baluster is from Clipart ETC.

The water and rain brushes are by Project GimpBC.
