I took those photographs this morning. As beautiful as glittering ice on tree branches might be, this is not something one wants to see, because it means there is black ice on the roads, also.

I took those photographs at Aspetuck Park in Easton, CT this past week. Parts of the park were flooded due to the 1.5"+ of rain that fell in this area. There is a thin layer of ice at the swing set.

My own quote: There is so little time to enjoy life, and then it's over, like falling leaves.

And when our worlds they fall apart
When the walls come tumbling in
Though we may deserve it
It will be worth it

I'm not sure if those females were the Common Merganser or the Red-breasted Merganser.

I don't know when common decency and respect for other people's property ceased to matter to people on this planet, but discarding trash within feet of our public drinking water supply is high on the list of examples of how despicable humankind has become. There were two empty glass bottles of Heineken beer, a broken one, and the original carton they came in, littered here. To whoever did this: you are a cancer on this planet.

I took those photographs at Southport Beach in Fairfield, CT this past week.

The Canada Geese didn't seem to pay much attention to this unexpected casualty of Winter. That iron bench can be seen here, when it was on the lawn.

I thought the upward pointing ice looked interesting, but when I looked at this photo later, I thought this looked like a dinosaur or dragon head, with an open mouth and lower teeth showing. :-)

I took these photographs through my house window yesterday, so they're not the best quality.

This was the aftermath of a strong thunderstorm line that went through yesterday afternoon. It began with a barrage of pea sized hail. Then it changed over to pouring rain. Once the rain stopped, I took these photographs.
