I recently found this turkey, so I decided to use him for an unconventional Thanksgiving Day art piece. He's holding a sword, in case anyone tries to make a meal out of him :-) .

This is my summation of the past week:

Teddy will be serving double duty as my main image plus as my "T-Day ticket" for my T-Day posts.

This Thursday is Thanksgiving Day here in the United States, and Teddy wanted to give thanks for a few things. Teddy said he is grateful for the safe health of his loved ones, a roof over his head, and food on his table.

In local news, "an adult male Saw-whet owl, one of the tiniest owls" "was discovered on Monday [in the New York City Rockefeller Center Christmas tree], dehydrated and hungry, but otherwise unharmed." The owl was taken to a bird rehabilitation center in upstate New York, and was going to be released back into the wild, once he had a clean bill of health from Vets.

These are some photographs that I took at Sherwood Island State Park in Westport, CT a few weeks ago.

Fall was waning at the time, and most of the trees around here are bare now. I saw the Wild Turkey couple and thought about Thanksgiving, which is next week. I also liked the weathered signs.

I took these photographs last weekend at the reservoir in Easton, CT.

I arrived right as this group of four wild turkeys was walking down the center of the street. They were fast movers, so I had trouble catching up to them. That's also why my second photograph is a little blurry. A few cars came along, but all slowed down or stopped for the birds.When this group reached a side entrance to the wooded area, they left the road and entered the woods.

Seeing them walking down the center of the street was comical. They stayed along the center line of the road until they reached the point where they made a 90 degree turn to enter the woods. This scene also reminded me of the Monkeys theme song, except in this, the refrain would be, "Hey, hey, we're the Turkeys..."

It's been a long, snowy, cold Winter here, so I haven't been taking photographs for a few months now, and only recently resumed taking snapshots. The first photograph is my entry for the following:
