What follows below is Free Speech satire / parody / mockery / sarcasm / what have you:

Country A, without provocation, bombs Country B. Is that an act of War?

1) Yes.
2) No.
3) It is whatever my Government tells me it is.

Someone's always playing corporation games
Who cares, they're always changing corporation names
Marconi plays the mambo, listen to the radio
Don't you remember?

"Faded Coffee Stains" - Postcard

This week's Sunday Postcard Art challenge was "Coffee Stains."

It turns out the challenge meant coffee stained paper, when I thought it meant coffee cup ring type stains. I had already been struggling with this theme, so I finally had to enforce my time limit rule and declare, "Pencils down!"

I created this using GIMP 2.10.22.

"Splotches" - Postcard

This week's Try It On Tuesday challenge was "Splatters and Splodges." (I thought it was Splotches, not Splodges, but they're probably the same thing.)

Make of this art piece what you will. It ended up being a hodgepodge to the point where I don't even know what category of art it is: modern art, shapeism art, who knows art? It's definitely outside of my comfort zone, and not my usual style.

I started with a blank background that had a large brown splatter / splotch stain on it. Then I added the large stained text circles. Everything was too brown, so I added some sea blue colors to the text circles. That led me to want a sea map in the background. (It's there, if you look closely, but it's faint.) Then I added some brown crisscrossing lines, small brown stained text circles, and turquoise diamonds. I wanted a little more contrast, so I added a little purple to the large stained text circles.

I like the end result. What does everyone else think? And what category of art do you think it is?

I created this using GIMP 2.10.12.
