The Super Bowl is this coming Sunday, February 13, 2022, here in the United States (US). Unlike Christmas 2021, Fauci isn't advising people to turn away the unvaccinated from their house door step, nor is he advising against private gatherings of more than 30 people, so all of the Super Bowl Parties are good to go! And this week, several Democrat Governors in the US started announcing end dates for mask mandates. It won't be long now, before President Biden announces covid-19 has been conquered. Perhaps he will do that on March 1, 2022, when he gives his State of the Union address to Congress, and he can say, "Mission Accomplished".

"Are You Ready For Some Football?!" - Postcard

In preparation for the "big game" I threw together this homage to American football art piece. I've been struggling with artist's block lately, but in this case, everything came together for me without much effort. I think the problem is worse when I'm trying to produce something for a challenge theme: then I seem to draw a blank. When I'm making something just for fun, I seem to have a somewhat easier time making it.

I'll be streaming the Super Bowl to my TV via an HDMI cable and this free CBS Sports Super Bowl LIII (53) online link, which I hope is the correct one. They are supposed to start broadcasting on it at 6pm Eastern Standard Time (EST), and the kick off is around 6:30pm EST, about 11 hours from now.

I created this using GIMP 2.10.8.

"Football" - Postcard

I made a Football theme piece, now that the Super Bowl teams have been determined from the playoff games this past weekend. All of the images are from old books in the ~1900 to ~1910 era about American Football, which is similar to Rugby. The rest of the world uses the term Football for what we in the US call Soccer.

Because everything on this is old, I decided to enter it in this week's Tuesday's Treasures (which seems to be very slow responding, at least for me).

I created this using GIMP 2.8.16.
