I took those photographs at the Audubon Larsen Wildlife Sanctuary in Fairfield, CT this past week.

The dogwood flowers were about one to two weeks early this year, so they were already past their peak when I came here.

I took those photographs at Aspetuck Park in Easton, CT this past week.

The dogwood flowers were about one to two weeks early this year, so they were already past their peak when I came here. The same was true for the tree in the third photo, which I think might have been a Magnolia, but I'm not sure.

I took these photographs in Easton, CT this past week.

There was a lot of water going over the waterfall due to how much rain we had this past week. There are several Dogwood trees growing on this corner property, and they were flowering.

Note: this waterfall is on the corner of Old Redding Road and Westport Road.

Lone White Dogwood Flower On Ground - Photograph

© All Rights Reserved

I took this photograph on Saturday, May 07, 2016. It had rained and/or been cloudy here for a week by then. My Dogwood tree was flowering. I noticed this lone white Dogwood flower on the ground. Apparently Nature struck it down. I got my camera and took a few photographs, and then the rain started. This year I did not take any photos of my flowering tree.

Black Birds in Dogwood Tree - Photograph

I took these photographs of a large flock of black birds that invaded my yard this past week.

I think these were Grackles. The flock landed in my yard and foraged through the fallen leaves for food. They also landed in my Dogwood tree and were eating the red berries on it.

This was my second "horror movie" experience this week. I was inside my house when I heard a lot of rustling outside, through the fallen leaves. I then started hearing a cacophony of bird chatter. I looked out the window and saw black birds descending into my yard and start scurrying around. It was like that scene from "The Birds." ;-)

Unfortunately these birds were very skittish. When I went outside to try to get photographs of them, they flew into the surrounding woods. But I did manage to get some good photographs of them. They flew in and out of my yard about three or four times.

This is 3 of 3 posts of photographs I took today in the Dogwood Festival area of Fairfield, CT. The flowers were past peak, so I didn't get here in time this year.

The first photo is my entry for:

I'm far behind on looking at and leaving comments for challenges I enter. :-(

I took these pictures of dogwood trees today, at Greenfield Hill Congregational Church, in Fairfield CT. I have two more posts with dogwood pictures from there, below.

The church's annual Dogwood Festival is May 11-13, 2012, but I think the flowers will be gone by then. Someone said Spring is about 3 weeks early here this year, and it looks like that could be true.
