I took those photographs in the woods on the north side of Glen Road (Route 53) near the intersection with Newtown Turnpike in Redding, CT this past week.

Those woods are part of the Centennial Watershed State Forest. The official trail map must be carried as one's permit for access to the area.

This is 2 of 2 posts of photographs that I took at Hoyden's Hill Open Space Area, the highest point in Fairfield, Connecticut, this past week.

Part of one of the trails in the woods runs along a stone wall lined unpaved road that emerges at Beers Road. The adjacent wooded property west of that has many stone walls in it.

This is 2 of 2 posts of photographs that I took at Ground Pine Sanctuary in Redding, CT this past week.

This site is the local historical ruins of part of the Sanford Farm. Many stone walls remain, despite the forest regrowth. A stone wall lined unpaved road runs along the north side of the sanctuary, and goes from Sport Hill Road to Stepney Road. I tried to walk the entire length of it, but a large fallen tree blocked the road about half way, near where the pond is on the adjacent northern private property.

Approximate GPS location: 41.304417, -73.325556

Sanford Cemetery is located at the southwest corner of this sanctuary.
