This week's My Soul's Dark Imagination theme was "Blood Moon".

I've had artist's block, so I haven't been able to create anything for these challenges until recently. Then I was too late for the Little Red Riding Hood challenge, when I finally was able to make something for it. But I reused the moon and wolf for this piece.

Note: I've been getting errors trying to leave comments on blogs, but I don't know why. Deann left me a comment, saying I'm being marked as spam.

I created this using GIMP 2.10.38.

CT Partial Total Solar Eclipse - Photograph

I took those photographs close to the peak time of the total solar eclipse yesterday. It was only a "partial" eclipse (about 90%) where I am in Connecticut US. It got dimmer, but not dark. I could hear birds chirping normally, so they didn't seem to notice any changes in the amount of sunlight.

I took those photographs of the Blood Moon (almost total lunar eclipse) early this morning (November 19, 2021).

This was a Full Moon, and because of the lunar eclipse, it is also called a Blood Moon. It was fantastic to get to see it! Unfortunately, I didn't get any good photographs of it. The ones shown here are in chronological order, as the eclipse reached its peak. The overnight rain clouds were mostly cleared out, when I took these.

This was a Full Moon, and because of the lunar eclipse, it is also called a Blood Moon. It was fantastic to get to see it! Unfortunately, I didn't get any good photographs of it. The ones shown here are in reverse chronological order, as the eclipse was progressing. The overnight rain clouds were just starting to thin out, when I took these.

The Total Lunar Eclipse was on a Supermoon Full Moon and is called a Blood Moon. It was fantastic to get to see it! Unfortunately, I didn't get any good photographs of it. The ones shown here are in reverse chronological order, starting on January 20th when it was partially eclipsed and going into January 21, when it was fully eclipsed.

The Total Lunar Eclipse was on a Supermoon Full Moon and is called a Blood Moon. It was fantastic to get to see it! Unfortunately, I didn't get any good photographs of it.

Ironically, two of my photographs of clouds passing in front of the eclipse when it was about half way across the moon came out looking like smoke pouring off of a smoldering, burning moon. (It would've been perfect if the moon came out more red in them, but I still like how they look.)
