I
took these photographs of Bethel-United Methodist Church on Palm Sunday (April 5, 2020) in Bethel, CT.
The note on their door says it all. In this part of the US (and perhaps in all locations?), there were no Palm Sunday public masses due to coronavirus covid-19 social distancing
Lock Down rules. Bethel has a nice downtown area, so I went here to walk around.
I had seen some replica vintage style tourist postcards in the July/August 2012 issue of Yankee Magazine, and I've wanted to make a few of my own ever since, but until now, I didn't have any photographs that I thought would work well in that format.
I used a picture I had taken of Trinity Episcopal Church in the Southport section of Fairfield CT. In GIMP, I created a rounded rectangle border with a radius of 15, and a width of 50 pixels. I used an Old Paper script to give it a distressed look.
