This week’s 4x4 Friday challenge was “Flower Fairy.” Most of the images are illustrations by Walter Crane, from an old book that I found on the Internet Archive. The woman is by Mucha.

This week’s 4x4 Friday challenge was “Cosmos.” This week’s Soartful challenge was “Maude Fealy.” I used her face in the sun. Most of the images are from old books I found on the Internet Archive. I created the sun using a GIMP script that I wrote.

This week’s Theme Thursday challenge was “Vintage.” Most of the images are artwork by Walter Crane (1845-1915). I obtained them from old books on the Internet Archive. I love his style and when I found the wedding image with the name William as a groom dressed in red, I decided to make a tribute to today's royal wedding.

This is also my entry for Digital Whisper theme #11 Memory and Take A Word challenge #26 "Memories." Catherine and William will always have memories of this special day.

This week’s 4x4 Friday challenge was “Winged Man.” I gave wings to a centaur, and colored them.

The words, "I'll come to thee by moonlight, though hell should bar the way," are by Alfred Noyes. Another good quote by him is, "The moon was a ghostly galleon tossed upon cloudy seas."

This week’s 4x4 Friday challenge was “Stars and Moon.” The quote, "The night walked down the sky with the moon in her hand," by Frederic Lawrence Knowles inspired my piece. Another wonderful quote is, "Shoot for the moon and if you miss you will still be among the stars," by Les Brown.

This week’s 4x4 Friday challenge was “Winter Solstice.” Although I awoke in the middle of the night, I was unable to see the rare Winter Solstice Total Lunar Eclipse due to cloud cover here, and missed seeing the red moon.

This week’s 4x4 Friday challenge was “Artistic Journey.” This week’s Take A Word challenge #3 was “Moon.” I'm still trying to stretch my artistic boundaries. I feel like my work is always confined and the same. I used to spend some of my time writing fiction. A writer critiqued my short stories and said my work was always like a pointillist painting, instead of being broad brush strokes. I continued writing, but still struggled with that problem. I think the same problem invades my artwork.

This week’s 4x4 Friday challenge was “Collage." I had been working on the previous week's challenge "Day of the Dead" but didn't finish it, so I made it into a collage. I used a 4x4 diamond shape, instead of a square this time. I made several modifications to the Gimp Fx-Foundry Alpha To Logo Dracula script, including adding the choice to create dripping blood from the alpha to selection of the chosen layer. I bump mapped the result.

This week’s 4x4 Friday challenge was “Fly Away Summer,” signifying the end of summer. I used digital stamps for this. (I modified the sun stamp.) The words are from Shakespeare’s Sonnet 18. Unfortunately I missed last week’s Spooky Bingo deadline (I thought I could post it under the wire, since Kersten is on Alaska time, but no such luck).
