After the first week of May, almost everything burst into full leaf growth around here. This stunning scene was near the entrance of this nature preserve.

There was something big thrashing and swimming around, causing the large ripples in the first photograph.

Black-crowned Night-Heron - Photograph

This is 4 of 4 posts of photographs I took today at Perry's Mill Pond in Fairfield, CT.

I think this is a Black-crowned Night-Heron but I'm not 100% sure. This bird was near a Great Egret, but both flew off when I moved closer toward them, so I didn't get many photos.

"Chevron Art" – Postcard

This week’s Sunday Postcard Art challenge was “Chevrons.”

The vintage bird and stamp images are from an Internet search. I created the chevron pattern and backgrounds using Earth tones, after seeing a few examples of Chevron Art that I liked. I spent too much time on this, and struggled to create it.
