Pequot Library - Pictures

I took these pictures of the Pequot Library in Fairfield CT on August 10, 2012. The lawn is brown due to tents that covered the lawn during the annual book sale they had two weeks ago.

This is also my 750th blog post!

Pequot Library Stained Glass Windows - Pictures

I took these pictures of some of the stained glass windows at the Pequot Library in Fairfield CT on August 10, 2012. When I first saw the woman statue in the window, I thought it was a person inside the library, which was closed, and it startled me.

This week’s Collage Obsession challenge was "Oriental." There have been a lot of good challenge themes lately, but my creative side continues to struggle to come up with any ideas. Oriental is one of my favorites, but I was at loss to come up with anything extraordinary.

The fonts are JFWildWood which I applied two filters to, to try to give it a smoke appearance, and JSL Ancient Italic.

I used this quirky looking pumpkin girl and created a Hallowe'en theme, even though the holiday is still months away.

Trinity Episcopal Church - Tourist Postcard

I had seen some replica vintage style tourist postcards in the July/August 2012 issue of Yankee Magazine, and I've wanted to make a few of my own ever since, but until now, I didn't have any photographs that I thought would work well in that format.

I used a picture I had taken of Trinity Episcopal Church in the Southport section of Fairfield CT. In GIMP, I created a rounded rectangle border with a radius of 15, and a width of 50 pixels. I used an Old Paper script to give it a distressed look.

The fonts are handwriting-draft_free-version, and Janda Elegant Handwriting.
