Streetlight Haze

It’s very humid here this morning. I took this picture of the haze cast by a streetlight. (It looked better in person.)

“Sparkling” Moon

On this humid morning, I went out to take pictures of the moon. This sparkle effect is an artificial creation from the digital camera. The orbs look like those attributed to ghostly energy, but they are caused by backscatter, or near-camera reflection, which is common with digital cameras at night.

"Envelope Art" – Envelope Size 10

This week’s Three Muses challenge was “Envelope Art.” I measured a business envelope (size 10) and used that exact size in GIMP for a template, but I had problems printing it onto an envelope (the image got cut off on the top and left, and didn’t extend all the way to the bottom and right edges). The woman image is from a Soartful challenge.

"True Love" - Postcard

I had artist’s block so I thought I would use this romantic image by William Bouguereau. The words are from the Bible, I Corinthians Chapter 13 verse 7.

"Autumn" - ATC

This week’s Think Monday – Think ATC challenge was “Autumn.” I used a photograph I took yesterday of acorns in the water, and applied a GIMP artistic filter to it.
