"Bird Butterfly Rainbow" - Postcard

This week's Sunday Postcard Art challenge was "Rainbows."

I started this by making a pastel rainbow background. Next, I added rainbow colored text and polka dots that faded as they went from the bottom to the top. Then I placed two poems about rainbows on this. I used a bird for a focal point, and included a butterfly.

I created this using GIMP 2.8.22.

The vintage images are from an Internet search. (See the side of my blog for links.)

Featured in the weekly sampler.

  1. Anne, this is lovely! I wouldn't have guessed you struggled with this theme - I'm glad you pushed through and created this stunning piece. There is so much detail. The fact you used two rainbow poems in your background is brilliant (I love using text but it's usually pretty random). And those fading dots are a great touch too, adding further interest to an already gorgeous background. The bird and butterfly are both lovely focal points. Thanks for joining.
