Given the heat we are experiencing I suspect that we may be seeing more of these thermo regulatory postures from Great Blue Herons. The temperature hit 34 degrees on the weekend here.

This is a bird we see here but which always strikes me as unusual. Interesting bird, different from most others I see here.
