This week's Sunday Postcard Art challenge was "Butterfly Wings."

I created this using GIMP 2.10.12.

The vintage images are from an Internet search. (See the side of my blog for links.)

Some day, my darling, when you get big, you'll grow beautiful wings, too.

Adding those butterfly wings to that adorable mother and child really elevated the image. What a pretty card Anne. Hope your night wasn't too hot. It is definitely starting to warm back up. And the last few days were so nice. Happy rest of your weekend. Hugs-Erika

You took me back with those lyrics, had to go search and listen.. Brings back so many memories. Beautiful postcard, as a parent I live in hope that my children will spread their own wings and reach new heights in their journey through life.

A lovely combination of images - the butterfly wings are a wonderful addition, and I like the slightly melancholy words which fit with her expression.

I saw this earlier, but before I could comment it was gone. I think this is so emotional. Melancholy and pensive. I felt a real emotional connection when I saw this and the poem.
