My art piece is a cartoon, and some of it is factual. A few days ago, quadruple covid-19 vaccinated (four mRNA shots) US Vice President Kamala Harris said she tested positive for covid-19, had no symptoms, and her Doctor prescribed Pfizer’s EUA pill for her. I heard about that pill awhile ago, and the first thing that came to my mind was: is this drug name a word play on Pavlov, as in Pavlov’s Dog?

If you want to call me a stupid, self centered Anti-Vaxxer with regard to the covid-19 shot, then I can call you Pro Human Experimentation, or PHE for short. Is that label inaccurate about you, and maybe even hurtful? When you retract your misnomer with regard to the covid-19 shot, then I'll retract mine of you. But I won't hold my breath, the way Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti did at the January 2022 NFL playoff game, per what was no doubt a CDC covid-19 guideline. Because it's all about the Science, and I bow down to your Superior Intellect.

I am surrounded by Greatness, everywhere I turn: people who are Smarter than I am, Better than I am. They are the Superior People, and I bow down to their Greatness.

They are the “Hate has no home here” “Acceptance of all” “Stereotypes are offensive” “Words hurt and can’t be taken back” “I believe in Science” Superior People.

They say “Words hurt and can’t be taken back” then apply derogatory descriptions to those who don’t agree with their opinions, so it’s acceptable for them to label people who choose not to get the covid-19 vaccine “anti-vaxxers”, “stupid”, and worse.

They are the Smart Ones on this Planet, who tell me, “Science Says 3 feet social distancing inside Connecticut public schools is covid-19 safe, but everywhere else, it has to be 6 feet social distancing to be covid-19 safe.” They also tell me, “Science Says 100% of the people currently hospitalized in the US with covid-19 are unvaccinated.”

They are the “un-selfish” ones, who call the covid-19 unvaccinated “selfish”, “uncaring”, “self-centered”, and worse. Yet they didn’t use those same adjectives to describe the fully vaccinated Americans who brought Omicron into the United States, back in November 2021, when those fully vaccinated Americans were “allowed” to travel outside of the US. Apparently recreational travel is now on the list of necessities in life, like food and water are, so it’s not selfish to travel anywhere, near or far, for one’s own personal enjoyment.

The Superior People are allowed to state their opinions about any topic they want to, but I, being a Lesser Being than they are, am supposed to remain silent, and listen, without saying a word in reply. I am only allowed to nod my head in agreement with every single Intelligent thing they say (or write). Because if I do dare to speak up, and say one single thing that disagrees with their Far Superior Opinions, it is banishment for me, in one form or another.

I am far from Perfect. I try to take a live and let live approach with everyone, and sometimes I fail in my efforts to be that way. But I don’t claim to be all of the Exalted things that the Superior People claim that they are (“Hate has no home here” “Acceptance of all” “Stereotypes are offensive” “Words hurt and can’t be taken back” “I believe in Science”), but who then only follow those rules with people who agree with them, and treat those who don’t agree with them with the exact opposite of what they assert are their Kinder, Gentler, Better Than You rules!

I don’t care if my post offends people. And actually, how could it? If any of the Superior People even read this, they’ll be thinking, “She’s not describing me.” Because, after all, the Superior People are the smart, unselfish, caring, loving “Hate has no home here” “Acceptance of all” people. They NEVER say or write hurtful words about, or to, anyone.

It is Holy Week. Ironically, the readings leading up to this week were about the parable about the Pharisee and the tax collector. April 4, 2022: “Luke says that Jesus was speaking to those who were self-righteous, holding other people in contempt.” “Being righteous involves a certain “better-than-thou” attitude towards others.”

From now on, I will leave the Superior People (SP) to their Greatness, and to their Torches And Pitchforks (TAP).

I took those photographs in my yard this past week. They were long distance shots, and the bird was obscured by bare tree branches, so they aren't the best quality. (Note: the first signs of Spring growth can be seen.)

Two Black Vultures flew in, like B52 Bombers. These birds are huge compared to other birds one typically sees in one's yard. And while they serve a useful purpose in Nature, having them arrive means only one thing: there is large carrion nearby, that they plan to feed on.

I made another Raven wood box, using a Hobby Lobby wood playing card box.

(Note: due to covidflation, the box price has gone from $1.99 to $2.49. Covidflation is the result of two years of World Wide Lockdowns for covid-19, yet the US Government is now claiming inflation is Russian President Putin's fault. I guess I was dreaming, back in August 2021, when US news reports said the US Government was saying inflation was "transitory". Forbes Aug 18, 2021. And if you don't trust Forbes as a News source, CNN had similar articles about inflation in that same time frame.)

Decoupage Steps

Using an InkJet printer, print the design/image on regular paper.

Allow ink to dry completely. (Approximately 12 to 24 hours.)

Cut out design and make any necessary cuts to fit it onto the box (if there wasn't enough of a tolerance allowed, and it needs to be trimmed smaller).

Paint box, leaving unpainted any areas that will be covered by the design, to save on paint consumption.

Approximately 12 to 24 hours after the design was printed, decoupage it to the box as follows:

Cover working area with plastic wrap (or any other material that the paint and sealer won't stick to).

Apply Liquitex Matte Gel (or Gloss Gel) to the box top, carefully position the design above the top, so that it is straight, then place it down.

Place plastic wrap over the top, then brayer down the image. (Note: I used a clear plastic bread storage bag.)

Repeat that step for one side, then the other side.

Allow several hours for drying time. (Note: I didn't wait long enough, and then the top bubbled a little when I put the first sealer coat on it.)

Carefully cut the box side seams with an exacto knife, box cutter, window pane scraper, etc. (Notes: use a rocking motion, trying not to cut the seam incorrectly. If you accidentally cut away parts of the side image, declare it a "rustic" look. If the side seams tear and can be folded over inside the box edge, decoupage that down, but that might cause the box to stick shut once closed.)

Apply Liquitex Gloss Gel, starting with the top, and working to the sides. (Note: the ink does NOT run when using Liquitex Gel, but the finish has brush stroke lines in it, instead of being smooth.)

Allow several hours for drying time, between each sealer coat that is applied.
