O Fortuna - Carl Orff

O Fortuna
Velut luna
Statu variabilis,
Semper crescis
Aut decrescis;
Vita detestabilis
Nunc obdurat
Et tunc curat
Ludo mentis aciem,
Egestatem,
Potestatem
Dissolvit ut glaciem.

Sors immanis
Et inanis,
Rota tu volubilis,
Status malus,
Vana salus
Semper dissolubilis,
Obumbrata
Et velata
Michi quoque niteris;
Nunc per ludum
Dorsum nudum
Fero tui sceleris.

Sors salutis
Et virtutis
Michi nunc contraria,
Est affectus
Et defectus
Semper in angaria.
Hac in hora
Sine mora
Corde pulsum tangite
Quod per sortem
Sternit fortem,
Mecum omnes plangite!

If I had only one wish for my country (and perhaps the world), it would be that people could see "the man behind the curtain" who foments Divide and Conquer. But the scales have tipped too far.

If I had only one wish for a loved one, I already used it, and it wasn't granted.

If I had only one wish for myself, I already used it, and it wasn't granted.

Because Nature is neither Good nor Evil. Nature is merely reproduction and survival of the fittest. (July 2016)

If (the world should stop revolving) - Bread
If the world should stop revolving
Spinning slowly down to die
Then one by one the stars would all go out

I created this for an offline discussion.

Surfside, FL condominium building partial collapse. (Palm Beach Post June 24, 2021)

Rev 5 (July 2, 2021)

Conjecture (V collapse):

Column at parking space 88 fails, for reason(s) unknown. (Note: column spacing north to south is not even. The same is true for east to west column spacing.)

Two V collapse points start. One along north-south line between two columns directly north and south of failed column, and one along west-east line between two columns directly west and east of failed column.

As weight bearing overload approaches critical mass, Unit C video (Santana) shows noticeable evidence of downward forces due to the failure point below.

Once full collapse begins, a cascading domino effect occurs. (warning: disturbing video) So a single column failure brings down all adjacent areas?

Addtional references:

video of debris inside underground parking garage entrance, before collapse.

closeup of that same video.

I use my own invented term “predictable performance” to predict beforehand the actions of those who are in power on the “world stage.” I have a high accuracy percentage rate. Predicting what will happen is not hard to do, if one is paying attention to actions instead of words. But it also requires one to be objective, which fewer people seem to be able to be these days. Sometimes my timeline is a bit off, but my prediction itself is still correct. But sometimes I’m completely wrong, too. Time will tell, which category 9/9/2021 falls into.

99 Red Balloons - Nena

99 Decision Street, 99 ministers meet
To worry, worry, super-scurry
As 99 red balloons go by.

I wonder if the Roman Empire had a huge debt held by (owed to) other “countries” just before it collapsed.

I also wonder if there were people pulling the strings and mocking the Romans, as the Roman Empire collapsed.

O, beware, my lord, of jealousy;
It is the green-eyed monster which doth mock
The meat it feeds on; (Othello - Shakespeare)

Nights In White Satin (full version) - Moody Blues

Nights in white satin, never reaching the end,
Just what I'm going through they can't understand.
Some try to tell me, thoughts they cannot defend,

Breath deep
The gathering gloom
Cold hearted orb
That rules the night

I know I can't be the only one who notices all of the clever, "cute" nicknames the US Government, US News Media, and US Entertainment industries have come up with over the decades:

"Baghdad Bob", "Jihadi John"

"Patrick Price", "Parker Promo", "Maya Markdown", etc. (State Farm insurance)

Harley Quinn (harlequin, DC Comics), Brook Lynn (Brooklyn, soap opera General Hospital)

Snowmageddon, Snowpocalypse, and Snowzilla

I’m surprised they haven’t found a way to be clever with shape words like Polygon, etc.

Because we've had clever uses of numbers. Remember how some people were getting married on dates like 7/7/2007, 8/8/2008, 9/9/2009, etc.? 12/12/2012 was the last date available for that sequence until 2101. But 4/3/21 was also popular. (ABC News) So maybe 8/13/21 will be too. (Fibonacci)

Numbers like 9/9 work well in the world of "cute" because the date format is the same in the US and the EU. I wonder if anything "momentous" will happen on 9/9/2021.

"Vaccinated" - Postcard

I created this using GIMP 2.10.24.

Originally the US Government told us that the covid-19 vaccines were not 100% protection against catching covid-19, therefore those who were fully vaccinated still needed to wear masks. And cases like the nine fully vaccinated members of the New York Yankees organization who caught covid-19 in May 2021 demonstrated that the efficacy is not 100%, just like our Government told us. (MSN)

The CDC term for fully vaccinated people contracting covid-19 is "breakthrough" infections. Yet "As of May 1, 2021, CDC transitioned from monitoring all reported vaccine breakthrough cases to focus on identifying and investigating only hospitalized or fatal cases due to any cause." (CDC) And then "on May 13, the CDC announced that fully vaccinated Americans no longer needed to wear masks in most indoor places." (The Atlantic). So there is no need for this mask design anymore, which I had made back in April.

This week's Take  a Word challenge theme was "Bees." Sadly, it is also their last challenge. Understandably, they are saying Goodbye, but they are still continuing with their other two sites. "Twelve Monkeys Not Bats" - Postcard

© All Rights Reserved

I created this using GIMP 2.10.24.

In February / March of 2020, the lie Governments were telling us was that covid-19 got into humans because of someone eating an undercooked infected bat or some similar story about bats, and I fell for their lie (mea culpa). Back in 2020 and early 2021, anyone who suggested otherwise, like it was "accidentally" released from the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) lab, was labeled a conspiracy theorist fake news spreader.

Fast forward to the end of May 2021, and we finally learned that, "Three researchers from China’s Wuhan Institute of Virology became sick enough in November 2019 that they sought hospital care." (Wall Street Journal, May 23, 2021). And suddenly the Narrative changed 180 degrees, and news organizations are now reporting that covid-19, may, in fact, have originated in the WIV lab.
