Large Bird - Possible Bald Eagle / Flying Away / Blurry - Photograph

I took those photographs at Sherwood Island State Park in Westport, CT this past week.

I spotted a large bird flying, which looked like it had a white head, so I tried to get photos of it. Unfortunately the only two I got were blurry, and he was flying away, so I can't tell whether or not this was a Bald Eagle, which are making a come back in Connecticut.

Canada Goose Yellow Neck Band Collar H290 - Photograph

I took this photograph of a Canada Goose with yellow neck band collar H290 at Sherwood Island State Park in Westport, CT on September 11, 2019 in the morning. This bird was in a group of Canadian Geese, and was located at approximately 41.111274, -73.331370.

I'm going to file a report about it at the Banded Bird Encounter Reporting site.

09/13/2019 Update: I received this bird's banding information on 09/12/2019 (1 day after reporting the sighting). I didn't notice when I took this photograph that this bird also had a Federal leg band, in addition to the neck collar band:

9/11/2001 Memorial - Photograph

I took these photographs at the 9-11 Memorial at Sherwood Island State Park in Westport, CT today. Someone left flowers on car windshields, so that the car owners could place them at the memorial. This man was carrying a "Flag of Honor" that was made for the 10th anniversary of 9/11. Today marks 18 years since we were attacked.

"Prior to September 11, 2001 the twin towers of the World Trade Center were visible from Sherwood Island. On September 11, 2001 and for several days following, smoke from the former World Trade Center was visible from this location."

Sherwood Island State Park, Westport, CT
