This week's theme at My Soul's Dark Imagination is "This is Halloween". The challenge will run for two weeks.

All of these use the same images, with slight variations of the colors. I could not decide which of the two vertical versions I liked better, so I posted both.

I created this using GIMP 2.10.38.

I took that photograph last night. There was already a thin cloud cover from the Nor'Easter that is going to hit parts of southern New England starting this morning. The tri-state NY-NJ-CT area has a Wind Advisory and Coastal Flood Warning. The Full Harvest Moon occurs tomorrow, September 26, 2026.

This week's Our Midweek Muse theme was "Red and Turquoise".

Sometimes one's inner muse leads one, when one least expects it. I didn't know what to create for this color challenge theme. And my initial idea, by accident, morphed in another direction.

Note: I've been getting errors trying to leave comments on blogs, but I don't know why. Deann left me a comment, saying I'm being marked as spam.

I created this using GIMP 2.10.38.

I took those photographs this past week. This particular thunderstorm was north of me. The first photograph shows the southern cloud edge of the storm, while looking west. The next two photographs show the north view, and the storm's slate grey, ominous clouds.

I took those photographs of the Full Strawberry Moon in the early morning hours. Because of the current heat wave that we get most Summers, the moon had an orange hue to it the past few nights.

I took those photographs close to the peak time of the total solar eclipse yesterday. It was only a "partial" eclipse (about 90%) where I am in Connecticut US. It got dimmer, but not dark. I could hear birds chirping normally, so they didn't seem to notice any changes in the amount of sunlight.
