Sanford Cemetery Ghostly Energy Form?! - Photograph

I took this photograph of gravestones at Sanford Cemetery in Redding, CT this past week.

This photograph contains an anomaly that I can't explain. I don't know what this is. I didn't notice anything unusual when I took my photographs here. When I loaded them onto my computer, I saw that in this one there was a translucent area in front of one of the black iron fence rail posts. (It is circled in the second (copy of the) image, to indicate where it is.)

It looks like a motion blur effect, but it's only in a small area. I've taken plenty of photos where I'm moving the camera, as I try to catch a snapshot of birds in flight, that have had this same result, except in those cases, the entire image had a motion blur to it. There also seems to be a smearing of the black color of the rail post.

People who know me know I don't alter my photographs to create fake ghost images. (There are plenty of people posting on the Internet who do.) I've gone to many allegedly haunted locations, with the hopes of seeing or feeling something and/or capturing something in a photograph, but all of the photos I have posted of those places have been unaltered and did not shown anything. Prior to this photograph, I've taken only one other photo where an anomaly occurred that I could not explain.

I am willing to consider the possibility that the anomaly in this photo could be some kind of ghostly energy form, but I need to do further research.

I am joining Bleubeard and Elizabeth for this week's T Stands For challenge found here.

Before I get to my summation, I want to apologize to everyone for not reciprocating comments etc. this past week. The new computer has taken up much more of my time than I expected. Then my antivirus firewall got disabled, and it took me a few days to figure out how to fix that, during which time I disabled the computer from accessing the Internet.

This is my summation of the past week:

Those are the last in the series of photos of Teddy that I took during our trip to Boothe Memorial Park a few weeks ago. (That trip was actually at the end of August.)

I needed a ticket into this week's T-gathering, so here is Teddy with another magazine image, this time showing a bottle of beer. (Teddy said to tell Elizabeth, Bleubeard, and CJ that he thinks they're going to like the magazine image he shows everyone in two weeks.)

The weather has been a blur to me, due to the all consuming new computer activities, but I do know here in Connecticut we had very heavy rain Sunday that caused some local roads to flood so badly that they had to be blocked off to vehicle traffic.

I continued to be busy with non-blog related activity this past week, due to the new computer. (Part of the process involves updating the old computer to Windows 10, which means making sure I have everything I need before going forward with the update, etc.)

Most/all of my Halloween artwork postcards were completed before last week, and I simply scheduled the blog posts for them to pop out at 12:01am every day starting last Friday: Halloween Black Cat Purple Moon, Halloween Black Cat Skull, Halloween Haunts, Halloween Owl Bat Moon, and Halloween Pumpkins.

I did get time to take some photographs: Autumn Scenes, Great Blue Heron, Ghost Wall and Abandoned Houses, Waterfall, Fall Foliage Water Scenes, and Sabia Tree Farm Red Truck.

And I have a small backlog of photos that I still need to post, including one of an anomaly at a cemetery. I was hoping to tell everyone about it this week, but because I haven't posted it yet, it will have to wait until next week.

Over the weekend, we watched the following movies:

romance:

Mystic Pizza (1988) (DVD) excellent
(Trivia: Lili Taylor, who played Jojo, played Carolyn Perron in The Conjuring. Matt Damon had a minor role as Steamer. Vincent D'Onofrio, who played Bill, went on to star on Law & Order: Criminal Intent)

horror (weekend marathon):

The Mummy (1932) (DVD) excellent, a classic
(Trivia: Edward Van Sloan, who played Doctor Muller, played Van Helsing in Dracula and Doctor Waldman in Frankenstein.)

Bride of Frankenstein (1935) (DVD) good, a classic

The Wolf Man (1941) (DVD) excellent, a classic

The Uninvited (1944) (DVD) excellent, great ghost story

Night of the Living Dead (1968) (DVD) excellent, a classic

The Amityville Horror (1979) (DVD) very good - scary

Halloween (1978) (DVD) very good - scary

Halloween II (1981) (DVD) okay - all the things not to do, including never turn on lights despite the darkness

Halloween III: Season of the Witch (1982) (DVD) okay - unrelated to first two, so name should've been something else

The Watcher in the Woods (1980) (DVD) good, a little scary, interesting plot

The Others (2001) (DVD) very good - scary

The Innkeepers (2011) (DVD) okay, longer than necessary, more funny than scary, and very few actual scary parts (takes place at the Yankee Pedlar Inn in Torrington, Connecticut)

Annabelle (2014) (DVD) very good - scary

Insidious: Chapter 3 (2015) (DVD) very good - scary

Insidious: The Last Key (2018) (DVD) very good - scary

The weather has been nice for this time of year. (And I chuckled at CJ's comment last week, when I said Connecticut is a small state: "I can't believe how long it takes us to drive through on the way to visit the Eldest!" Ah, yes, the lovely highways and byways of CT: Despite decades of telling us this tax then that tax would go to pay for upkeep and improvement of our roads, it hasn't happened, so potholes etc. abound. And there are numerous choke points along the way, where traffic comes to a stand still, at any time of day, for no apparent reason. One section of the Merritt Parkway is called "No Man's Land" for good reason: if you get trapped in there during rush hour or due to an accident, there is no escaping. If you're lucky, traffic inches forward at a crawl. If you're unlucky, you have to turn off your engine, so you don't run out of gas, while you wait for the road blockage to finally get cleared.)

I continued to be busy with non-blog related activity this past week, which, due to how much time it's taking to finish, I thought I should explain. I got a new computer. Normally this would be a happy announcement. I got it by choice, not by the necessity of the current computer dying. However, all has not gone as quickly and smoothly as I expected, so it's now dragging on into week #3. And Amazon sold me a used defective external DVD drive as a new product, so I don't currently have a DVD/CD drive for the new computer, which didn't come with an internal one. I won't bore everyone with all of the details, but needless to say, Teddy has been complaining loudly about this impacting our Fall outings to take photos, etc., so I've taken some breaks from doing everything I need to do with the new computer, but that also means I'm not "done" yet. (But this is my first T-Post made with the new computer, so progress is being made.)

I'm still behind schedule on where I wanted to be with Halloween artwork. But this week I have the honor of being the Sunday Postcard Art (SPA) host and I chose the theme of "Bats." There is still time to join in. My piece is here: Halloween Bats.

I did get time to photograph a few cemeteries: Center Street Cemetery, Aspetuck Cemetery, Gilbertown Cemetery, Gunntown Cemetery, Saint James Cemetery.

More cemetery photos: Grove Cemetery Chapel and Grove Cemetery Chapel Interior.

I also took photos of: Fall Foliage, Horse Mural, Cupola and Horse and Carriage Weathervane, and the allegedly haunted Yankee Pedlar Inn. (Note: I don't think Ghost Hunters ever filmed an episode here, but back in 2011, they did for the Sterling Opera House in Derby, CT.)

Over the weekend, we watched the following movies:

horror:

Dracula (1931) (DVD) excellent, a classic

Frankenstein (1931) (DVD) excellent, a classic

City of the Dead (Horror Hotel) (1960) very good for its time

Insidious Chapter 2 (2013) (DVD) very good - scary

The Conjuring (2013) (DVD) excellent - scary (Trivia: Joey King, who played Christine, played Wren in Slender Man)

The Conjuring 2 (2016) (DVD) excellent - scary
