This is 1 of 4 posts of photographs that I took at Turkington Falls Natural Area in Redding, CT this past week.

This was the initial part of the trail, which led to the Turkington Falls Trail Loop.

There were a lot of bugs and mosquitoes biting me, so I couldn't linger long in any one place to take photos.

Parking is on the shoulder of the road near the entrance, at approximately 41.312851, -73.398167 (across the street from the driveway for 94 Old Stagecoach Rd), but the area was overgrown, hiding large rocks. Be very careful parking on that side of the road, so you don't damage your car.

I came here specifically to see the cascades, but once I reached the base of the hill of the Reeve Biggers Trail Connector, the path looked overgrown, so I was unable to determine where the Reeve Biggers Trail was, and had to turn back at that point. The cascades can be seen from the Cricket Overlook trail, which is off of the Reeve Biggers Trail.

I need to return here and try reaching the cascades via the Reeve Biggers Trail entry point at the power line crossing on Gallows Hill Road.

Beautiful photos. I can relate to the mosquitoes. The county is now considering aerial spraying here since the mosquitoes have gotten so far out of hand with all this rain we've had.

As annoying as the bugs are, you expect them, but not knowing where the path leads would be quite frustrating.

Lovely photos... but as a martyr to mosquitoes, I'd be running for the fresh air!

Too bad your peaceful scenery was marred with the whine of mosquitoes. And doesn't isn't seem that the bugs have now become immune to bug spray? Enjoy your day!
