This week's Take a Word challenge was "Orange."
I know Fall is still about two months away, but the other day, when it cooled off after the very hot weather we had, it felt and sounded like the waning days of Summer. There are certain bugs that make a buzzing sound here, as the temperatures start to cool down a little, signalling the end that is coming. The air had that same feel to it. I can't describe it any better than that. (It's like being able to smell snow coming in the air in Winter, before the storm arrives. Maybe it's a New England "thing.") It's hot again, like it usually is here in July, but the waning Summer days aren't too far away now, here in the Northeast United States.
I created this using GIMP 2.10.12.
The vintage images are from an Internet search. (See the side of my blog for links.)

Very nice, but it doesn't feel at all like fall today. Sounds like we need to grin and bear some heat through tomorrow at least. Stay cool my friend. hugs-Erika
...rushing it a bit aren't you?
That's a beautiful vintage postcard - the autumnal glow is heartwarming.

Beautiful imagery. I like the feel of old days and soft shades of orange colour.
While autumn is my favorite time of year, I'm definitely not finished with summer yet. In my advanced years, the seasons seem to come and go far too quickly!
Beautiful piece, love the scene you used. Have a great week, hugs, Valerie
Very nice postacard, Anne. It gives you a nice feeling of fall.
Beautiful, it's nice to think of autumn while you cooking in summer heat. Thanks
I'm in the North too! Summer is to short and Fall is way to short!
Cool art
