"T Stands For Teddy And Another Carafe Drink" - Photograph

I am joining Bleubeard and Elizabeth for this week's T Stands For challenge found here.

This is my summation of the past week:

Teddy will be serving double duty as my main image plus as my "T-Day ticket" for my T-Day posts.

Teddy said he doesn't care how cold it is at the Troll Station in Antarctica, he wants to spend the rest of the Summer there because he said it's too hot here in Connecticut. He demanded that I drive him to the Post Office so that he could get a passport. When I told him no, he skulked out of the room, muttering something under his breath.

It has been over six weeks since my cat had his surgery, so I think it's safe to declare him fully recovered. He continues to rest a lot due to the heat.

This is my summation of the past week:

Teddy will be serving double duty as my main image plus as my "T-Day ticket" for my T-Day posts.

Teddy said he wants to spend the rest of the Summer in Antarctica, at the Troll Station, because of the current heat wave we're having here in Connecticut, US, and because he said he wants to meet and hang out with the trolls who live there. At the time he said that, I told him the current temperature there (Jul 19, 2020 at 11:00 pm their time) was -11 °F (Feels Like: -23 °F) / -24 °C (Feels Like: -31 °C), and that I didn't think he would like that. I also told him trolls are folklore creatures, and don't live at the Troll Station. He looked disappointed and walked away.

My cat continues to improve, but he has been resting a lot, because it's too hot for him, also.

I took those photographs of my cat this past week. He continues to improve each day as he recovers from the major surgery that he had on Thursday, June 11, 2020. The second photo is actually the first in the sequence. He heard something outside, and focused his attention on the window, with his tail in motion. Then he sat down, at alert, listening to the sounds. The second photo also shows the rearranged furniture, which is now ordered so that he has small step increases in height, once he jumps onto the first piece. He continues to go up and down that way, and so far has not jumped directly on to or off of the highest piece of furniture (which can't be seen in the photo). I'm grateful to have him in my life.

I took those photographs in my yard this past week.

It's amazing the beauty one can find in nature, if one pays attention to one's surroundings, and sees what is hiding in plain sight. Those rain water droplets on the various leaves almost looked like ice due to the dim sunlight that shimmered in them.

I took those photographs in my yard this past week. I think that bird is a Crow. Several of them flew into the trees in my yard, and seemed to be keeping a vigil. They remained silent and still. I noticed a raptor (Hawk?) flying overhead, but I didn't think Crows were afraid of raptors, so I don't know why they seemed like they were on alert. When I see a group of these birds, I think of them as a harbinger of death.

This is my summation of the past week:

Teddy will be serving double duty as my main image plus as my "T-Day ticket" for my T-Day posts.

Teddy said it's fortunate that I have a backlog of photos of him posing with those Republic of Tea catalog pages, because we haven't been going anywhere due to the heat and covid-19.

My cat continues to improve, but I don't have any new photos of him this week. He has been resting a lot, because it's too hot for him, also.

The area of Connecticut where I live is still in a D0 drought, but conditions have improved a little in other areas of CT. (United States Drought Monitor - Connecticut) Tropical Storm Fay went west of CT, so we didn't get much rain from it.

A mother deer and her fawns stopped by for a visit. (She actually has three fawns, but I only saw two when I took this photo):

**TROPICAL STORM FAY TO BRING HEAVY RAINFALL, STRONG WINDS, AND DANGEROUS SURF CONDITIONS**

* STORM INFORMATION:
    - About 240 miles south of New York City NY or about 300 miles
      south-southwest of Montauk Point NY
    - 37.4N 74.8W
    - Storm Intensity 50 mph
    - Movement North or 360 degrees at 10 mph

SITUATION OVERVIEW
------------------

Tropical Storm Fay, located just east of the southern Delmarva Peninsula, will move northward along the coast towards the area today, making landfall near the New York City area tonight. The main threats with this system will be locally heavy rainfall, the potential for flash flooding, and dangerous surf conditions today into tonight.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
----------------------------------

Now is the time to complete all preparations to protect life and property in accordance with your emergency plan. Make sure you are in a safe location before the onset of strong winds or possible flooding.

Keep cell phones well charged. Cell phone chargers for automobiles can be helpful, but be aware of your risk for deadly carbon monoxide poisoning if your car is left idling in a garage or other poorly ventilated area.

Rapidly rising flood waters are deadly. If you are in a flood prone area, consider moving to higher ground. Never drive through a flooded roadway. Remember, Turn Around Don't Drown! If a Tornado Warning is issued for your area, be ready to shelter quickly, preferably away from windows and in an interior room not prone to flooding. If driving, scan the roadside for quick shelter options.

If in a place that is vulnerable to high winds, such as near large trees, a mobile home, upper floors of a high rise building, or on a boat, consider moving to a safer shelter before the onset of strong winds or flooding.

Closely monitor http://weather.gov, NOAA Weather radio or local news outlets for official storm information. Be ready to adapt to possible changes to the forecast. Ensure you have multiple ways to receive weather warnings.

I took those photographs through my house window this past week, so they aren't the best quality.

At first I noticed the two baby deer (fawns) in my front yard, seemingly all by themselves, and I wondered where their mother was. They roamed around nibbling on plants, which I didn't mind, until one of them went to the round flower garden I recently planted. Then they wandered to the side, where I saw their mother was.

It's not too early to start planning for this year's historic Halloween Blue Moon, because the next one won't happen until 2039! And because the Full Moon that occurs closest to the September equinox is always called the Harvest Moon (October 1, 2020), the second Full Moon in October is called the Hunter’s Moon (Halloween, October 31, 2020).

"T Stands For Teddy And Live Deliciously" - Photograph

© All Rights Reserved

I am joining Bleubeard and Elizabeth for this week's T Stands For challenge found here.

This is my summation of the past week:

Teddy will be serving double duty as my main image plus as my "T-Day ticket" for my T-Day posts.

Teddy said we have to live vicariously through magazine images like the one he is posing with, because we still aren't dining out. Here in Connecticut (US), face masks are required, which we understand the requirement for, but that isn't our idea of a pleasant way to spend time inside a restaurant.

I'm happy to report that my cat continues to improve:

© All Rights Reserved

He's doing well enough that I felt okay leaving him home alone for a short period of time while I went out to take photos.

 © All Rights Reserved

Which also brings up an "incident" that happened, that Teddy and I are in disagreement over what actually happened. Teddy claims that I almost let a Hawk carry him away while I was "busy" taking photos, and "not paying attention" to our surroundings. He said the aggressive stance taken by a group of Canadian Geese should have alerted me to Teddy's imminent danger from the incoming raptor, which landed on the nearby swing set:

© All Rights Reserved

I told Teddy that's not what I recall happening. When we got to the park, Teddy complained loudly that the swings had been removed from the swing set that he had posed on back in July 2019. Teddy refused to get out of the car and told me to leave the keys with him, while I got out to take photographs. When the Red-tailed Hawk landed, Teddy was safely inside the car with the windows rolled up, the radio and air conditioner blasting, and was never in any danger.

In weather news, despite the rain we got this past week, we are still in a D0 drought. 83.77% of Connecticut is now in a D0 or higher drought, when last week it was 62.41% of CT. (United States Drought Monitor - Connecticut) At least the rain we got was enough to revive my forsythia bushes (and other plants and trees).

I took this photograph of my cat while he was lounging. He continues to improve each day as he recovers from the major surgery that he had on Thursday, June 11, 2020. He's doing well enough that I felt okay leaving him home alone for a short period of time while I went out to take photos. I still have him on restricted activity, but he continues to become more active, so internally physically he is feeling less / no pain. If you look closely at the photo, you can see the bare area on his left foreleg and on his belly, where his fur had been shaved for the operation. It's slowly growing back now. I'm relieved that he continues to improve each day.
