"T Stands For Teddy And Stress Suppress, Clarity and Calm Tea" - Photograph

I am joining Bleubeard and Elizabeth for this week's T Stands For challenge found here.

Happy Saint Patrick's Day! (My artwork will appear after this post.)

This is my summation of the past week:

Teddy will be serving double duty as my main image plus as my "T-Day ticket" for my T-Day posts for awhile.

I could use some Stress Suppress Tea and Clarity and Calm Tea, because my stress level has spiked and the peak is not in sight yet. Yesterday (March 16, 2020) I went to the grocery store and there was no meat, chicken, milk, cream, eggs, or toilet paper. In other parts of the store, other shelves were completely bare of items.

In local covid-19 / coronavirus news, the cliche "well that escalated quickly" applies to what I said in  last week's Tuesday post, compared with today, one week later:

NY, NJ, CT Jointly Ban Crowds Over 50, Dining Out, Gyms; Tri-State Cases Surpass 1,000

March 16, 2020: "In the absence of uniform national standards issued by the federal government, Govs. Andrew Cuomo, Phil Murphy and Ned Lamont have implemented their own set of unified rules for the tri-state area.

There will be no crowds with gatherings over 50 anywhere. Casinos will close Monday night [March 16, 2020] regionwide, as well as movie theaters and gyms. Bars and restaurants will be limited to take-out and delivery only as of 8 p.m. Monday [March 16, 2020]. The closures will remain in effect for as long as necessary to protect public health."

Westport [CT] declares Local Preparedness Emergency after 20 residents test positive for coronavirus

March 16, 2020: "of the 31 Westport [CT] residents who were tested for the virus, 20 of them have tested positive." Probably some of those were a result of the report on March 11 of 14 out of 40 people in Westport who were being tested for "flu-like" symptoms who had been exposed to someone with NO SYMPTOMS who later tested positive for covid-19 / coronavirus after leaving the US. Yet back on March 7, after two hospital employees tested positive, one Connecticut hospital assured us that when the employees were working at the hospitals, "the [employee] displayed no symptoms associated with COVID-19, and as a result — and this is very important — the [employee] contact here during that time does not constitute an exposure." If that was true, how did anyone at the party in Westport contract covid-19 from someone who later tested positive but allegedly at the time of the party displayed no symptoms?

March 17, 2020 update to this post: "On Monday [ March 16, 2020], Governor Ned Lamont said that 200 employees of Nuvance Health may have come into contact with coronavirus and are staying home for quarantine. Several of those hospitals are in Connecticut — one of which is in Danbury where a worker who lived in New York state tested positive for COVID-19." THAT spread of the virus would have been from the two NY residents who worked at Danbury Hospital, Norwalk Hospital, and Bridgeport Hospital that they told us at the time does not constitute an exposure and now they tell us it did, when they knew BEFORE that point in time that the CDC was saying people with no symptoms could be spreading it!

I made this map back on March 10, to show the tri-state NJ, NY, CT proximity to the New Rochelle New York containment area.

Oh, Teddy offers the right stuff! I was at ALDI. Empty shelves. No toilet paper.
Crazy, stupid world.
We stay home and watch DVDs.

Good morning, scary times-I went to the grocery store the week before everyone decided to hoard everything-I need to go this coming weekend for fresh ingredients so wondering what I will find. the poor employees at these stores that have to totally re stock stores every day-people need to get a grip and not be so selfish.
I just ordered in some new teas and coffee one thing that is still online-haha there is nothing online to buy either Happy T hugs Kathy

Same things in our area Anne:( Times like these it's a blessing to have the internet and phones to stay in touch, and movies, books and crafty things to keep us busy. Happy T day!

Thank you Teddy for the special tea! I went to my local grocery store this morning (Tuesday) not sure what to expect and got almost everything I needed. They were restocking the meat section while I was there. There are still other sections that need restocking, like pasta, canned soup (I did get 4 cans), some produce items (workers were restocking the holes in that area too), milk etc and toilet paper and paper goods aisle. The workers need time to do all of this. I saw the big trucks out back. I will go back Thursday morning to see if they have TP. I believe that stores are all limiting quantities now.

Lovely tea choice, Teddy. I also have a link that you might find especially amusing on St. Patrick's Day

I did shopping yesterday through my grocery store's online service. Rather than the 2 hour delivery, I won't get the order until 3/18. No worries as there are a few rolls of TP to get us through. Nothing came up about items like the TP or paper towels not being in stock. I didn't shop for meat as last Thurs. unknown to each other, Himself and I ran to the store to pick up some meat and frozen veggies. I did like the online shopping experience as I really hate grocery shopping. I just hope that the store doesn't substitute aluminum foil for toilet paper if the warehouse was empty, too. 😺 Stay safe and well and have a Happy T Day

Hubby and I both have conditions that put us at high risk. So we've stopped going out as much as possible. I went to the drug store today to refill all our prescriptions. Phew, they had everything we need.

Stay safe and take care,

Happy T-day! Eileen xx

I hoped to see Teddy in the post, it is good to see him still looking cheerful in these troubling times. Grocery shopping is a problem for many with empty shelves and folk getting annoyed with the shop sales people. Its the customers fault not theirs that there is gaps. Over stocking the basket is only stopping others from getting what they need.
Take care and stay safe and Happy T day wishes.

We're up to 26 people here in little NH; that's a lot. And community spread-but no surprise with MA next door. Teddy picked the perfect tea for this week and all the covid-19 turmoil. Please stay safe and healthy Anne. And enjoy a cup of tea. Hope it was a good T day. Hugs-Erika

These are testing times, with no clear measures in the US it seems. Here in Spain we are in total shutdown, no loitering on the streets and only shopping for essentials. Everything else is closed. But we don't have empty shelves, and people don't seem to be hording. I even bought 4 rolls of toilet paper. There is plenty.
It is good that Teddy has some calming tea when you are so stressed. Don't get stressed over things you have no control over. Enjoy your tea.
Happy T-Day my friend,
and stay safe,
Hugs,
Lisca

I missed T Day completely following the Twitter trail of the latest information. I'm a homebody so not seeing many changes in my personal life, but the suggestions get more restrictive almost every day. On Twitter I'm seeing a lot of help offered for stress relief and help with anxiety and offers of support. It's a comfort to see people reach out :)

And what's with the egg shortages?! I swear I'm thinking a lot of this food will go bad and get thrown away because panic buyers are selfish.

Anyway, I hope you find peace in these days and have communities where you find support :)

I am SO sorry this has taken so long for me to leave a comment. I can't seem to keep my internet going. I've almost had it with ATT. I'm also sorry I’m such a bad T Tuesday host this week. Part of my problem is I was trying to read and comment on every post from a T participant before I moved on. When I did, everyone else was getting left behind. I hope you will forgive me, because neither of us wants anymore stress in our lives right now.

Teddy, thanks for being our spokes bear for T Tuesday. Please put your furry snugly arms around her and whisper that hopefully everything is going to be OK. We're all in this together and we all have each other, so that is something. PLEASE let Anne know she is loved and keep that tea coming so she can de-stress.

I needed groceries Thursday, so since I couldn't get on the internet, bought groceries. No potatoes to be found, no milk, no bread, and limits on soup, eggs, and other goodies. Aldi had NO veggies in cans, no frozen veggies, and very few fresh veggies, none I would want to bring home. I'll have to make do, since I wasn't about to go to another store and risk even MORE fear of catching this virus.

Thanks Anne, for sharing Teddy with us again this week. I have been watching how NY state and NYC have shut down or will by this weekend. It's time to stay at home and I hope that relieves some of your anxiety. Now I'm off to see what else I've missed on your blog, dear. Again, happy belated T Tuesday to both you and Teddy.
