I am joining Bleubeard and Elizabeth for this week's T Stands For challenge found here.
Teddy wanted to share with
everyone the scented Ikea candles that we got
this past week. It was a small indulgence to brighten things up as we
creep toward Spring. Ikea has great prices (as in low / affordable)
on scented candles. I got some SINNLIG Scented tealight, Tropical pineapple, yellow candles for
$2.99/30 pack, and some BLOMDOFT Scented block candle, Sweet pea, light orange candles for $4.99/3 pack. (Note: I can confirm the tea lights burn
for almost 4 hours, as Ikea says.)
The yellow tealights have
a subtle scent that isn't too overpoweringly sweet the way some fruit
scented candles are. And the pink candles have a soft but heavenly
flower scent that definitely makes me think of Spring. This Winter
we've had two arctic blasts so far, that brought unseasonably bitter
cold temperatures that I think many (all?) of us would prefer to do
without.
We wrote a tutorial on how to use the Crop Tool in GIMP. I use the term "we"
loosely because someone who shall remain nameless insisted on getting
partial credit for writing the blog post even though he merely
"starred" in the photos used for it. His name begins with
"T" if you couldn't guess who I'm talking about. :-)
Teddy suggested I start
keeping a mini-journal about his, then he corrected himself and said
"our" activities during the week, for our T-Day post. I
told him so far he hasn't been photographed with a drink, so we need
to work on that next. Teddy said he doesn't think he's been shown
with tea yet, so that might be a nice treat for him, ahem, us, to
show this time.
Teddy mentioned that in case everyone doesn't know it, bears love honey in their tea. I told Teddy I think people get that. Teddy then mumbled something about asking everyone to send him honey in the bear shaped containers, and I told him we already have more than enough of those in the cupboard, because of him insisting I buy some every time I go out anywhere. We settled on me posting an art piece featuring a tea cup, for T-Day, as our ticket into the group gathering.

I tried to make a few
story people art pieces. I also entered Tag Tuesday, Try it on Tuesday, and Moo Mania and More this past week.
I took some photos of "the cat" to share with everyone. Teddy complained that he wasn't in
the photos. I told him I had a hard enough time getting the cat to
sit still, to get any good photos. (Yes, those are my legs in there.
He clings to me like a dog, which I love, but it makes it nearly
impossible to get a good snapshot of him.)
I was this week's guest
host for Sunday Postcard Art, and I chose the theme of "The Sun." Next week the theme is Masquerade. I hope
some of you consider joining us there, because everyone is friendly
and welcoming of new contributors. All mediums are allowed, as long
as your artwork is 4" x 6" or 6" x 4".
To end our Sunday, we watched Dragonwyck. If you like classic old movies, I recommend seeing it.
Then we had Shepherd's Pie for dinner.

Hi Anne. Thank you for visiting my blog this week. It is always nice to have an extra visitor. I am late doing the rounds from my Friday post as the weekend 'got in the way'. My favourite beverage is a good cup of tea so I appreciated your art work.
Cats are very difficult to photograph. I have to be very quick to catch mine because the minute they see a camera they turn their heads away.
living in such a chilly place, I am sure any sign of Spring will be most welcome, but in the meantime, enjoy your scented candles. hugs for Teddy. Kate x
Teddy is cute posing with the candles. Lovely Spring scents to keep in mind for the next bout of Winter weather. I like honey in tea, but sadly, honey is not allowed on the Keto diet we are following. I rarely got good pictures of Ink. He would sit and look at the camera and just as you clicked the shutter, he would turn his face away. Uncanny. Your dinner and movie was a perfect way to end the weekend. Happy T Day. Stay warm.
Hello, love your cute teddy and the kitty. Your dinner sounds delicious. I am hoping for an early spring, I do not like the cold weather and snow.
Thanks for the visit. Enjoy your day, have a great new week!
I haven't looked at candles at Ikea, but those are good prices. I'll have to check them out. Dragonwyck is wonderful, isn't it! Happy T Day!
Teddy is adorable! The candles are such a pretty color too.
Is the sunshine postcard challenge still going on? I started a postcard yesterday but didn't quite finish it. I'm with you about IKEA. I have to drive just south of Boston to get to the closest one, so I don't get there often but am due for a trip. One of these days. Hope you have a fabulous T day Anne. hugs-Erika
I have never lived near an Ikea store but sounds like they have nice things-love your candles that Teddy is showing us.
Kitties are difficult to get photos of aren't they? you did pretty good. Your tea sounds nice-and dinner and a movie-perfect.
Happy T Hugs Kathy
I have never visited Ikea but I really want to visit one. Sounds like they have great prices.
Shepard's pie is one of my favorite meals. Yours looks yummy!
I am going to check out that movie as I love old classics. I grew up on them so I am partial to them. Sadly, with all the new effects and advancements in technology, my children don't even want to sit through an old black and white movie.
Happy Tea Day,
Kate
cute teddy and story. I love using scented candles but there isn't an Ikea near me so I pick them up as I see them on sale in different places. I haven't made a Shepherd's pie yet this season so I guess I should be thinking about that because it is so good! Wonderful art projects for the challenges. Happy T day!
Sounds like you have been enjoyably busy! Glad Teddy and you have plans. Your cat is gorgeous, too, and how lovely that she is always so close. You made some beautiful art, too. Happy T Day, hugs, Valerie
bears like honey in their tea;) of course! happy t-day!
I see, you have a teddy-friend too and a cat - our cat dont't like photoshootings too and it's hard to get a photo of her. Teddybears are better models ;)
I can imagine, how you need a spring smell in hard and cold wintertimes. Our winter is not so bad this year... but we always have smelling candles in our home. We like them!
Greetings from Brumm and Leokadia
Teddy has. Great choice in candles and also writes some good stuff in your posts. Always make me smile
Brautiful artwork and what could be better than a cat and slippers for a relaxing time
Have a great T Day
Lobe Chrissie xx
My sincere apologies for taking so long to visit. I would have been here sooner, but I decided to eat from my freezer, which included downing about a gallon of chocolate ice cream. I then promptly fell asleep. Just woke in time to make coffee and ask Teddy if he remembers the honey bear I shared on my second look post this month. I also love these bears.
Wish we had an IKEA in KS, but no one wants to come to KS, not even politicians (yea!). Those are great prices, especially for scented tea lights.
I love the cup and saucer, and will have a digi question for you soon. Thanks for joining T this Tuesday and for the wonderful Gimp tutorial. LOVED your SPA entry, but sadly have never heard of that film (what else is new, I don't seem to know any old ones).
Teddy looks so cute with his scented candles and I did like reading his helpful activities for this past week. i'm not a fan of sweetening tea but can imagine Teddy loving honey in his tea.
Cat looks very comfortable beside you, animals always seem to know when we want to get a photo and kindly don't co-operate with us.
Your Shepherds pie sounds yummy for dinner.
Happy T day wishes Anne

What a wonderful post! The candles sound lovely, the perfect reminder that spring is on the way 😁. Your artwork is beautiful too and I love seeing your cat, such a cutie! Happy T Day wishes! J 😊 x

Oooh! I bet Teddy's fur smells lovely sitting so close to those lovely candles!!! Your art work is wonderful Anne! I'll be around for a catch up soon! Great to see 'the cat' ! Happy T Day Chrisx
I enjoy your Teddy stores, Anne. They always leave me smiling. You got some good buys on scented candles. I wish we had an Ikea near me (in Mexico).
Your inspiration "Sun" postcard is beautiful.
Happy T-day! Eileen xx
Ikea candles are lovely. I wish I had an Ikea near me. Perhaps it is better this way, as I would spend too much money.
Your cat looks sweet. Yes, our cat is difficult to photograph too. Well done for immortalizing him.
Yumm, cottage pie! One of my fav meals. I also love 'devilled' cottage pie, which has a spicey meat sauce.
Happy T-Day,
Lisca
IKEA candles are delightful! Teddy holding them for you is as well. :)
Happy T day!
Teddy looks so cute :) and so is the cat!!!

Happy Very Late T Day!
