"Still Water" - Photograph

I took this photograph earlier this afternoon. After the polar vortex receded, a warming trend began, and today reached an unseasonably warm 55 F (12.7 C). This is the view looking from Connecticut toward Long Island, New York. Long Island Sound was so tranquil and still that it looked like solid blue glass. There was a slight haze in the distance, obscuring the view of Long Island, which is normally visible on the horizon here.

Where did the water end and the blue sky begin? Who could tell?

It's a shame I don't know how to make blog posts go viral, because this is a photograph I would like to share with millions of people around the world. Maybe it's just me, but I think this epitomizes nature's beauty at one of its finest moments. This beach scene was simultaneously surreal and perfect looking.

(Please note that my blog post times are intentionally set to Pacific Standard Time, while I am in Eastern Standard Time.)
