I took these photographs at the Fairfield Metro Conservation Area in Fairfield, CT this past week.

I discovered this little gem of a waterfowl viewing area by accident. The trail here provides nice views of birds nesting and swimming in this section of Ash Creek, and is located across from the Fairfield Metro Train Station.

I saw a Great Blue Heron, Mergansers, Ducks, and Canadian Geese here, as well as small foraging birds. Unfortunately, I also saw graffiti.

Two of its three access points are located as follows:

Ash Creek Blvd
41.159360, -73.233465

Kenard St Parking
41.157172, -73.237089

It's wonderful that you (and possibly Teddy) were able to get out and check out a few places. These are stunning photos and show ow dead everything here is. Simply wonderful, even with the graffiti.

So glad you were able to get outside. From some of the posts on your blog, it sounded like you and Teddy had a touch of cabin fever. Looks like you had a nice day for an outing.

Interesting ducks which I don't know though we do get Herons too often actually here in the UK, I have had to surround the pond with cane and string to prevent them getting the Koi but thank goodness they seem to have got the idea at least for the moment. Thanks for the lovely comments over at mine too. Big hugs, Angela xxx

Oh Anne, you hit the motherlode of beautiful photo country here. It makes me sigh -- I'm eager for my favorite water area to open up for spring. It shouldn't be too much longer! Lovely photo finds.

This looks like a nice place to walk and wow, you saw some great birds. We don't have any herons here right now, at least here inland, not sure about at the coast. Great photos Anne. And happy weekend. Enjoy the nice weather we should have for a couple of days. Hugs-Erika
