Second on the 2nd: Old Dutch Church, Sleepy Hollow, NY

This is my entry for Altered Book Lover Bleubeard and Elizabeth's "Second on the 2nd" theme. Back in September 2017, I went to Sleepy Hollow, NY for a day trip. The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, by Washington Irving, is one of my favorite stories. As a child, I didn't realize how close the town was to me in Connecticut. As luck would have it, when I went on this trip, the Old Dutch Church was actually open, so I was able to go inside and take photos. What a thrill! You can see all of my Sleepy Hollow photos here.

Below is the contents of my original blog post, that I am sharing again today:

I took these photographs on September 22, 2017 inside the Old Dutch Church, in Sleepy Hollow, NY.

I didn't think area of New York was close to CT either. Even though I know Ct shares a whole lot of border with NY.What a cool church. I love these old colonial style buildings. This one has almost a New England feel with it's beautiful simplicity and plain style. Thanks for sharing Anne. hugs-Erika

I'm delighted you shared these photos of the Old Dutch Church with us as your second look. I haven't known you that long, so this was a first look for me, and it was a fascinating one, too. What an amazing pulpit and that floor was quite a focal point for me, too. Thanks for taking us to Sleepy Hollow and the Old Dutch Church specifically for this second look on the 2nd.
