This past week, I took those photographs of some short flowers that grow wild in the shaded parts of my yard. Those flowers close when it gets dark (night time) or if it gets overcast, but open when the sun is shining. They grow in the early Spring, but I'm not sure what they are.

What lovely, delicate flowers! That is so cool they close up at night.
...pretty little thing.
Hi Anne, so pretty very delicate
I am pretty sure that this is Bloodroot. The flowers are generally white, respond to sunshine, and do not last long. I believe I have seen this pink-veined form.
I just looked again, and I can't believe that I was fooled for a minute. It is Spring Beauty. I was looking at the Bloodroot leaves around it.
That looks like Spring Beauty. Such a lovely sight!
Such a nice looking flower, it does look delicate.
All the best Jan
