I took that photograph in my flower garden this past week. The plants aren't fully grown yet, but some of the flowers on them are. Unlike Old Fashioned Bleeding Hearts, the Fern type has flowers from Spring until the first frost of the Fall season. The little black seeds that form inside the flowers can be sprinkled around on the ground, and will grow in the Spring, after going through a Winter season.

These are a nice variety of bleeding hearts! It's great that they have such a long blooming season.
