Helicopter - Photograph

I took those photographs at Southport Beach in Fairfield, CT this past week.

This helicopter first caught my attention when I heard it. When I looked at it, it looked a little unusual. It was very dark, like a charcoal grey or black. I think the wheels were retracted into the body, like an airplane, but I could be wrong. It had two four-bladed rotors (one large main one, and a smaller vertical mounted one on the tail). It also had two objects, one on each side, as well as a few other smaller objects, mounted on it. Any helicopter type identifications are welcome.

Great photos...I've stayed awhile to browse your blog x.
Your decoupage cigar box (from yesterday) is really pretty and I like the 'crackle' too from the plastic wrap.
I just had a word with my husband and he thinks the helicopter might be a Sea King....possibly a Merlin but most likely the Sea King x.
