This is 1 of 3 posts of photographs that I took at Sherwood Island State Park in Westport, CT this past week.I got two nice photos of a sparrow sized bird pair that were brown with a brown bill and dark eyes. All of the leaves have fallen where I live (Connecticut, USA), but the brown and pale foliage created a nice background hue for the shots. The first one had a sepia look to it (but is the original, unaltered photograph).
I looked in my Birds of Eastern North America book, but I couldn't figure out what these brown birds are. I included the third photograph for size comparison to another bird. They can also be seen in my third post. They are slightly larger than a House Finch. Any identifications are welcome.
