Hooded Merganser - Photograph

© All Rights Reserved
This is 1 of 3 posts of photographs I took at Sherwood Island State Park close to sunset in Westport, CT this past week.

This male Hooded Merganser was separate from a larger group, then started swimming to catch up with them. Unfortunately all of my other photos came out blurry.

This is my entry for the following:

Wild Bird Wednesday #73

  1. Lots of lovely things going on in this photo--golden color, reflections, movement in the water. And when I saw this waterbird I thought of costume ball for some reason--one of those fanciful old ones where people wore masks made of bird feathers! :-)

  9. The photo you share is absolutely stunning!!!! Anne, I'm jealous. We are supposed to have this species here in South Texas, but I have yet to spot one.
