"How a Hellfire Gets Shipped to Cuba" - Postcard

This week’s Sunday Postcard Art challenge was "Comedy/Humor."

I struggled to come up with something for this theme. In the end, I used a true event as the basis for my piece. This past week, a news article revealed that in 2014, the United States mistakenly shipped a Dummy Hellfire Missile to Cuba.

I created this using GIMP 2.8.16.

To the best of my knowledge, it was permissible to use the comic strip panels that I altered for this postcard.

I created this experimental piece with a tilt toward a calendar/celestial theme. I recently found a few fantastic moon face images that I immediately wanted to use!

I created this using GIMP 2.8.16.

This is 1 of 2 posts of photographs that I took at Aspetuck Park in Easton, CT this past week.

I loved how the cement bridge reflection photo came out! Until now, I never bothered to photograph this normally non-photogenic bridge whenever I came to this park. The starkness of Winter brought out a beauty that normally isn't there. And I always like to photograph the red wood bridge, regardless of season, because of its bold color.

The first photo is my entry for the following:

This is 2 of 2 posts of photographs that I took at Aspetuck Park in Easton, CT this past week. (Note: the fourth photo was taken at the nearby Reservoir.)

I liked how the tree reflections in the water/ice looked like they were being seen through translucent vellum paper. This was my first time taking photographs of ice. They didn't come out too good, but I'm not sure if that was due to the low lighting (the sun was close to setting) and/or other reasons.

This is 1 of 2 posts of photographs that I took at Burying Hill Beach in Westport, CT this past week.

These three brown ducks were gliding along peacefully in the water, although they continuously swilled their heads in both directions, scanning their surroundings. I got a few shots of them before a loud noise nearby caused them to take flight.

The first photograph is my entry for the following:
