This week's Our Midweek Muse theme was "Cows".
With all of the wild weather in the United States and around the World, I left a comment for Deann, joking about, "What is next? Locusts?" And then she left me a comment, saying that did happen next (July 16, 2026 Dead Mormon crickets make Oregon's Highway 140 slick...and stinky)!
This week, Mother Nature decided to throw another curve ball at the area where I live (Connecticut). Yesterday, my cellular phone blared with a Wireless Emergency Alert about Flash Flooding danger until 3:30pm. This morning, the News said that Bridgeport, CT got 1.8" (4.572 cm) of rain in 1 hour, which caused flash flooding on many roads. The entire area experienced that, along with too close for comfort lightning strikes. Preliminary rainfall totals from the National Weather Service had some totals from 2" (5.08 cm) to 4.5" (11.43 cm) of rain, as well as thunderstorm damage, and a possible tornado "that moved through Purchase and Rye Brook New York between 4:00pm and 4:30pm Tuesday July 21, 2026."
I created this using GIMP 2.10.38
The vintage images are from an Internet search. (See the side of my blog for links.)
