I took the first two photographs this morning, to provide some perspective on how high the flood waters were on Sunday, September 13, 2026. I am fortunate that my house is on a rocky cliff ledge, so that when the brook that passes parallel behind my house breaches its banks due to flash flooding, it is below me. On the left side of the second photo, you can see the rock ledge that juts out and is several inches above the normal water level height. In the third photo, that rock ledge is below the height of the raging rapids. On the right side of the first photo, you can see that most of that land is dry. (A residual small stream of flowing water is also visible, but I am unsure of the source of that flow, although normally dry areas in there still have some ponded water.) In the third photo, that normally dry area is covered with water.
