I took this photograph of a Robin in my yard today. There was a group of at least 10 of them here on Monday, February 17, 2014, but they eluded me and my camera. Seeing this bird back in CT is always the first sign that Spring is almost here. (I also noticed my Daffodils are poking out of the ground. They are snow covered, but they are hardy, and that doesn't affect them.)This photo is my entry for:
Wild Bird Wednesday #84

We are having a wonderfully cool, almost autumn, evening here - it seems that the seasons are slowly changing!

I love seeing birds in our yard - your Robin is delightful.
Anne,
Thanks for stopping by my site. Robins are here year around but I still think of them as harbingers of spring. Whenever the snow clears off on a patch of ground the robins arrive looking for warms, which triggers thoughts of spring to me too.
always such a welcome sight! and i love to hear their chirps.
When I see robins I know Spring is coming. You got a great shot! On Monday the tenth a friend about an hour away said there were bunches outside his work. I have yet to see one.
Sorry I am a little late in coming to comment on your blog. Thanks for commenting on mine. Lovely to see and photograph the robin and I hope your daffodils are able to come up out of the snow soon.
Nice shot, yes I think we are all looking forward to spring, it been an unusual winter over there and here too.
All the best Gordon.
I've seen a single robin twice and two just last week. Some winters we have few to none, but a couple of times they arrived in huge flocks and all disappeared after a couple of days. Nice to see your fine photo.
