Green Heron - Photographs

This is 2 of 3 posts of  photographs I took at the Reservoir in Easton, CT this past week. I first saw this bird flying back and forth to the power lines, squawking as it did. I think it is an American Bittern a Green Heron, but I welcome bird identification corrections if I am mistaken.

(Updated 2013 Sep 01: This is a Green Heron, not an American Bittern.)

I can't believe no one commented on how good your picture of American Bittern is Anne. I just did. Great Great Blue too.

I've tried and tried to find a Bittern out here - once I saw one in some reeds but it quickly slipped away. Fabulous shots!!!!

Cool sighting the Bittern, they are usually shy and stay hidden! Great shots!
