"Steampunk Robot" - Postcard

© All Rights Reserved
This is my second entry for this week’s Sunday Postcard Art challenge "Steampunk."

I always struggle with this theme, but I was determined to use a photograph that I found, of a replica of the Robot Maria/Hel from Metropolis, one of my favorite movies. The photograph is copyright Kay Shapero, 2006, and was taken at the 2006 Worldcon. I obtained her permission to use it. (Thank you again, Kay!) I altered the color slightly and applied the GIMP Script Conte (charcoal crayon) to it, to make it blend better with the other images.

The other vintage images are from Clipart ETC and an internet search. (See the right hand side of my blog for links.)

The font is codex.
