This week's Our Midweek Muse theme was "Reflections (as in mirror)".
The major snow storm that affected a large swath of the United States dumped 15 inches (38.1 centimeters) of snow on my area of Connecticut on Sunday, January 25, 2026. There was a topping of sleet / freezing rain, so there was a crust on top of the snow. All of the major highways in Connecticut were still partially snow covered Monday morning, and then there was black ice. It has been bitterly cold, with the highs around 20F (-6.66 Celsius), but with a wind chill making it feel more like 0F (-17.77 Celsius). This coming Sunday, there is currently a 40% chance of a Nor'Easter hitting my area. :-( Is it Spring yet?

ReplyDeleteI am so sorry Anne for the extreme weather abuse you are suffering. It is truly crazy because 15 inches of snow is a almost a given here. However not with the extreme drop in temperature and the Nor'easter. In Utah it is unseasonably warm in the 40s, 50*F next week. I have had a puny 1 inch of snow all winter. Although this sounds like a wonderful thing. We are a high altitude mountainous desert, and come Summer we won't have any water for the farmers, or our lawns and gardens. Because all our snow headed East. Be safe and warm my friend I hope you get through this nightmare soon.
This reflection is thought-provoking, and I really like the aesthetics and composition of the image.

According to the latest weather dude. Most of the storm will be out to sea. The Cape and Islands will get clipped, maybe 6 in. of snow. 2-4 in. in the Boston area and along the North shore. My area may get a dusting to an inch. Points west and that includes you, I think, will get nada.
