I made a music roses butterfly wood box, using a paper cigar box.

I painted over the paper using Martha Stewart Vintage Gold Metallic Paint (346 433 / M18121), but it started chipping away at the fold point at the back of the box lid. (See the third photo.) I created top, front, back, side and bottom panels for it, and decoupaged them onto the box after the paint was dry. I used two layers of clear coat over that. I left the inside of the box unaltered.

I was going to give this to my sister as a gift, but now I'm unsure if it will stand up to the normal wear and tear of every day use, due to the paint chipping off.

I created this using GIMP 2.10.4.

The vintage images are from an Internet search. (See the side of my blog for links.)
