The only time I could get any photos of the Least Tern birds was when they were on the ground. When they were in flight, I couldn't get any clear shots of them.

Today is Memorial Day in the United States. It is a day of remembrance for soldiers who died while serving their country during war. I created a somber piece for this day.

"Party" – Postcard

This week’s Sunday Postcard Art challenge was “Party.”

I wanted to make something with a lot of confetti and streamers, and I ended up using the same background for two different pieces. I went where my muse took me. One direction led down a sad path. The other direction led down this celebratory path.

I had found this vintage dapper man during an Internet search awhile ago, and have wanted to use him in something. I created a replica magazine cover for Gentleman's Quarterly magazine.

"Vintage Button Card" – Postcard

This week’s Sunday Postcard Art challenge was “Buttons and Bows.”

At first I didn't know what to do for this theme, but when I did a search and saw vintage button cards, I decided to replicate that look. I used a dress pattern that had a bow (two actually) on it.

It was fascinating to watch the Double-crested Cormorant drying his wings in the sun. This is the second time I've seen one of these birds.

I took several photos of this Great Egret, and loved how he looked in the first photo. His wind swept appearance made it look very cold, although it was a warm late Spring day.
