I think the one word that makes everything bearable is Acceptance. That word is also the final stage in the grieving process, when a loved one dies. But it can be applied to everything in life.

Throwing out garbage accumulated during one's life is liberating. When one's perspective changes, one realizes that some things that one thought were important aren't.

And when one accepts that the dreams and ambitions one had for one’s life will never happen, it’s easy to toss it all into the garbage, and never look back.

Gratitude is the word to apply to move forward in your life. Merriam-Webster defines gratitude as “The state of being grateful; thankfulness.” It means you’re appreciative of who you are, what you have and who is in your life.

“If you concentrate on finding whatever is good in every situation, you will discover that your life will suddenly be filled with gratitude, a feeling that nurtures the soul.” — Rabbi Harold Kushner
