"Purple, Green, Orange, and Black Hallowe'en" - Postcard

This week’s Sunday Postcard Art challenge was "Purple, Green, Orange, and Black Halloween." I'm still about a week behind on challenges and leaving comments for people.

I made it through Hurricane Sandy okay. The power went out three times, but came back before the food in the refrigerator went bad. There is widespread damage and power outages in CT.

Red Covered Bridge - Pictures

This is 1 of 3 posts of pictures I took in Southford Falls State Park in Southbury, CT on Oct 27, 2012. I wanted to get back here in time for the peak Fall colors, but I didn't, so most of the trees are bare here.

The first picture is my entry for this week's Weekly Top Shot #54.

There is still uncertainty in the track that Hurricane Sandy (Pre-Halloween 'Frankenstorm') will take, so this coming week could be very bad around here. It's de ja vu with last year, when he had a freak snow storm that cut power to many and cancelled Hallowe'en.

Diving Seagull - Pictures

I took these pictures in Westport CT on Oct 26, 2012. It was an unseasonably warm and lovely afternoon. This seagull was looking for hand outs from people eating their lunches. Later he went diving into Long Island Sound to catch his own food.

Black Fall Foliage - Pictures

I took these pictures in CT at dawn on Oct 20, 2012. The flash went off and created this effect, where the fall foliage looks black, which seemed appropriate with Hallowe'en almost here. The second picture is more natural lighting.

"Moondance Magic" - Postcard

This is my second entry for this week’s Sunday Postcard Art challenge "By the Light of the Full Moon."

This was the moon I originally wanted to use, but my first muse took me in a different direction for this challenge.

I love the song Moondance by Van Morrison and heard it recently on the radio. I tried to portray some of the magic the words paint into my imagination.

"Conjuring Spirits" - Postcard

This week’s Sunday Postcard Art challenge was "By the Light of the Full Moon."

Lately I have struggled with being creative. I had several ideas for this theme, and this started as something completely different from what the end result is now. But this piece developed as I searched through my clip art and I'm thrilled with the outcome.
