    It's a wonderful bird isn't it? I am very fond of the French name for it, Pic flamboyant, which translates to Flamboyant Woodpecker. Much more expressive, don't you think?

    We get those birds here, but I don't see them on our little patio. Woodpeckers yes, but not the Flicker. Beautiful birds, aren't they!
